News

Hi, a few bits of news on the writing front. I’m now looking into editing and publishing (probably self-publishing) for the “Dark Scene 500” book, subjects that are entirely new to me. I have a few leads, but if anyone knows anyone who can help with either, please get in touch, as the internet is full of conflicting advice! All I’ve learned so far is ‘steer clear of vanity publishers’.

Whilst I’ve been waiting for responses, I’ve updated the existing Listerners Guides on this site, with plans to write a new one soon. This includes releases up to 2024, included the long-awaiting end to Project Pitchfork’s most recent trilogy. If you haven’t checked them recently, take a look at the Articles Page.

DJ Setlist

Back to Lava with DJ’s Translight and Mark13, featuring live bands Down from Above and Inertia (finally Reza and I on the same bill!). This time held in the legendary Cart and Horses pub in East London. Being the home of Iron Maiden, this set was more guitar heavy than what I’d normally do – but given it was an afterparty set, a lot of old favourites made it in. But not before a minutes noise in tribute to Steve Albini.

Update – February 2024

News

I’ve been quiet in recent months, but I can now say the draft of the ‘Dark Scene 500’ (final title to be determined) is complete. I’m now looking into options for external editing and publishing. Expect to hear a LOT more when this process begins in earnest. Thanks go to everyone who came to me with ideas and suggestions. There’s still a long way to go before this thing becomes reality, but the part I do largely on my own is done now.

Meanwhile, I’m going through my older writings and updating them to 2024 status. To start with, I revisited my old Infest retrospective, which now covers the festival in it’s current incarnation.
