This ends this extensive look at the full and complete works of Deutsche-Amerikanische Freundschaft. I began plans to write this shortly after Gabi’s passing back at the start of the COVID pandemic. In the event, my writing went hopelessly off the rails about a month into lockdown. I won’t discuss the reasons here, but it took me a year to get back on course again.
This break did at least allow me the chance to check out some of the lesser-known corners of their backcatalogue, but on this occasion, I haven’t unearthed any hidden gems for you. Their strongest and most influential tunes are the ones you most likely already know. And if you don’t already know them, I’ve given you every possible reason to check them out. The story of DAF may have reached its conclusion, but their legacy is one we can all continue to enjoy.
Top xx Lists
A Top 10 didn’t cover enough of my favourites and a Top 20 would have involved too many marginal tracks. So, a Top 15 it is.
Terminates Here Personal Choice

Add the VNV mix of “Der Sherrif” and the original 7” of “Kebabträume” for my personal DAF playlist, and add “Wegen Dir” and “Internationales Lied” from DAF/DOS if you want to do an early-00 ‘burned to a CD-R’ collection. I know no-one does that anymore – I just thought I could do a Best Of comp better than Virgin or Mute.
Anyway, that really is enough now. Who fancies a kebab?
